Many of you have already seen a few postings from Mark, but I would like to take this moment to formally announce that he has joined Brightfly as a Senior Researcher. Mark's focus will be on the audit and compliance universe which is a fantastic fit for his extensive background in this space.

Brightfly is the only analyst firm that we know of with a research staff comprised entirely of practicing security professionals and Mark's addition to the team is no exception. He has almost seven years of experience working for “Big 4” public accounting firms where he specialized in reviews of information system security, as well as compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and GLBA. Prior to his Big 4 career, Mark supported IT departments in both the banking and energy sectors for over six years as a network, systems, and security administrator. Mark’s past work for clients has included risk management consulting, penetration testing, IT controls evaluation, and security policy reviews and he shows no signs of slowing down!  Mark holds both a CISA and MCSE certification, and he is also an active member of the Houston chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
