0 Comments 12 January 2010

We are proud to announce a new partnership between Brightfly and Trust Catalyst. As many of you already know, Brightfly’s Research is unique and founded in the insights and experiences of the security and audit community. Trust Catalyst’s research enables organizations to better understand how to minimize the risk of cybersecurity threats that jeopardize their customers’ trust.

“By bringing Trust Catalyst into our community, and more importantly, their depth of expertise in sound data management, we feel we’ll be able to more deeply explore the interaction between data protection strategies and the creation of competitive advantage in companies around the world,” said Brandon Dunlap, Managing Director of Research at Brightfly. “The community outreach they have done is in perfect alignment with our model of research and through those connections, we look forward to joint exploration into emerging practices related to the intersection of audit and information security.”

As a part of this new partnership, Kim Getgen will work closely with Brightfly as a Guest Researcher, bringing her expertise in data loss prevention and breach notification to bear on their continued extension of Robert Bird’s work at the University of Connecticut on compliance and its role in creating sustainable competitive advantage for organizations.

““This is an ideal opportunity to combine Brightfly’s expertise in security, audit and competitive compliance with our understanding of how to keep sensitive data protected from emerging cybersecurity threats,” said Kim Getgen, Principal at Trust Catalyst. “The role of data management in the face of industry and government mandates cannot be ignored. Working with Brighfly we can discover what practices organizations are using in response to their regulatory landscape and the effects that it has on their ability to create and sustain competitive advantage in the market.”

Stay tuned for new developments and research as this partnership begins to drive insights into competitive compliance strategies and practices.
