P-Synch Maker M-Tech Acquired by Hitachi

0 Comments 09 April 2008

In "keeping up with the Joneses," Hitachi picks up M-Tech Information Technology, makers of the password synching product P-Synch for an undisclosed sum. Gideon Shoham, formerly the CEO of M-Tech, has been retained in that role but over the newly renamed "Hitachi ID Systems". This further fuels the trend of infrastructure product companies baking security into their products/portfolios. With other major vendors of storage solutions, such as Sun, IBM, and EMC picking up ID management talent, how much longer will we have to wait until we get easy-to-manage data element level authentication and authorization?
